Are you a seasoned claims professional looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr Claims Manager to join our team in Melbourne.
About the Role:We are seeking a highly experienced Sr Claims Manager to lead our financial lines claims team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of claims, providing claims advice to team members, assessing liability and claims reserves, and developing claims strategies.
You will work closely with underwriters, brokers, clients, and lawyers to negotiate positive claims outcomes and ensure claims costs are kept to a minimum. Your strong negotiation skills and ability to interpret policy and exclusions will be essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a portfolio of financial lines claims, predominantly professional indemnity and D&O
- Provide claims advice to team members
- Assess liability and claims reserves
- Develop claims strategies and discuss with underwriters
- Proactively manage claims to ensure costs are kept to a minimum
- Work across other claims teams with shared clients
- Liaise with stakeholders, insurers, brokers, clients, and lawyers
- Negotiate positive claims outcomes
- Solid experience in managing professional indemnity claims
- Knowledge of law and different state jurisdictions
- Ability to interpret policy and exclusions
- Strong negotiation skills and high level of stakeholder engagement
