About the Role

Catholic Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Care Coordinator to join our team at St Francis, a 48-bed home providing exceptional care to our residents. As a Pastoral Care Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our residents receive personalized pastoral and spiritual care, tailored to their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective pastoral care services to residents and their families, ensuring their spiritual and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with the Service Manager and staff to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident.
  • Conduct regular visits to residents, engaging in meaningful conversations and providing emotional support.
  • Facilitate weekly Ecumenical Church services, catering to residents of all faiths and backgrounds.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local clergy and community leaders to ensure a supportive network for our residents.
  • Participate in staff training and education programs to enhance your skills and knowledge in pastoral care.

Requirements

  • Background and qualifications in Pastoral Care or Counselling (Clinical Pastoral Education, Theology, or Spirituality).
  • Previous experience in aged care or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Ability to demonstrate Catholic Healthcare's values of compassion, courage, and integrity.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to complete computer-based pastoral care plans.
  • Qualifications in Counselling are desirable.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
