Job Title: Student Wellbeing Officer - Pastoral Care Specialist
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Student Wellbeing Officer - Pastoral Care Specialist. This is a part-time temporary position that will support the emotional well-being of students in a Catholic school setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the emotional well-being of students: Provide a safe and supportive environment for students to discuss their concerns and feelings.
- Develop and implement pastoral care programs: Work with teachers and other school staff to develop and implement programs that promote the social and emotional well-being of students.
- Liaise with community service organisations: Build relationships with local community service organisations to provide additional support and resources for students.
- Provide professional learning and development: Complete professional learning packages and refresh this learning at least once every two and a half years to stay up-to-date with best practices in pastoral care.
- Qualifications: Hold a minimum qualification or qualifications, equivalent to or higher than, a Certificate IV as determined by the States, and this qualification or qualifications must include competencies in both mental health and making appropriate referrals, and providing pastoral care, and/or working with youth.
- Experience: Have experience in providing support to children and/or young people to address social and emotional needs.
- Skills: Possess well-developed organisational and time management skills with the capacity to work effectively both independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary pastoral care team.
- Commitment: Have a demonstrated commitment to personal faith practice.
- Experience in providing support to children and/or young people to address social and emotional needs.
- Ability to support schools and teachers in identifying and developing educational, social and emotional programs to support children and young people who are vulnerable or at risk.
- Ability to liaise with community service organisations.
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills with the capacity to work effectively both independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary pastoral care team.
- Have a demonstrated commitment to personal faith practice.
