Marsh is seeking a highly skilled Senior Insurance Risk Advisor to join our Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions (PEMA) team.

PEMA Overview

Our PEMA practice leverages Marsh's global expertise to deliver specialized services to the private equity, infrastructure, and alternative asset industry, as well as to corporate buyers. We work with clients throughout the lifecycle of their investments, advising on risks and insurance matters from acquisition to exit, including placing portfolio-level insurance solutions. Our global practice consists of over 150 professionals worldwide.

About The Role

In this position, you will be responsible for driving Marsh's PEMA business within Marsh and externally. This will be achieved by leading insurance due diligence engagements for private equity, corporate, and financial institution clients, and coordinating the services of various Marsh practices to bring the best of Marsh to our clients.

You will utilize your insurance expertise to advise clients contemplating acquisitions, divestments, PPPs, and project financing activities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the growth of the Marsh brand within the Australian and New Zealand market
  • Prepare and deliver due diligence reports
  • Coordinate services provided by other practices within Marsh
  • Mentor and coach junior staff members
  • Act as a liaison to overseas PEMA professionals across the globe
  • Develop and nurture relationships with private equity firms, law firms, accounting firms, investment banks, and financial institutions to leverage these into future business opportunities
  • Respond to Requests for Proposal (RFPs)
  • Engage in active internal communication to stay abreast of changing risk and insurance market conditions
  • Liaise with internal Marsh practices to implement insurance placements

Requirements

  • Experience in insurance broking and account management for corporate and/or global accounts
  • Prior experience in a Due Diligence role, or demonstrated experience with clients considering M&A in an insurance broking context, FSRA Tier 1 compliance
  • Highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Strong data analysis, research, report writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
