Family Violence Crisis Intervention Role

The purpose of this position is to provide crisis response, risk assessment, and case management for women and children escaping family violence.

As a specialist in family violence crisis intervention, you will deliver trauma-informed and strength-based support, prioritizing victim survivor safety and empowerment.

  • Manage risk and hold perpetrators accountable by working within the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM), the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme (FVISS) and the Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS).
  • Advocate for victim survivors and collaborate with local, regional, and statewide services.
  • Participate in an after-hours on-call roster for crisis response and support clients in emergency and refuge accommodation.
  • Help with safety planning and material aid, utilizing your knowledge of risk assessment, trauma-informed care, and family violence frameworks.
Key Requirements
  • A Bachelor level qualification in Social Work or equivalency met through the 7 Equivalency Principles.
  • Experience in family violence crisis intervention and case management.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A valid Victorian Driver Licence, Working with Children Check, and satisfactory police check.

Working in High-Pressure Environments

This role requires the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments while managing a complex caseload. You will need to prioritize tasks, manage multiple relationships, and respond to urgent situations with empathy and professionalism.
