Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Role

We are seeking a dedicated HSE professional to lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. This role involves advising on HSE matters, conducting audits, managing risk assessments, and updating policies.

About the Position

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled HSE professional to join our team. As HSE Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading continuous improvement projects related to HSE practices.
  • Providing professional advice and guidance on various HSE-related topics to employees and management.
  • Monitoring and enhancing HSE management standards by identifying potential risks, analysing, and implementing optimal solutions.
  • Staying updated on relevant legislation, standards, industry requirements, codes of practice, and guidelines.
  • Developing, refining, and updating the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and Security management policies and procedures.
  • Leading internal HSE audits and risk assessments.
  • Coordinating external auditing and assessments.
  • Preparing internal HSE training material.
  • Maintaining comprehensive HSE-related documentation, including equipment records and incident reports.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • HSE certification, with a minimum of Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or recognised equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and production practice.
  • Minimum 2+ years in an HSE position with a knowledge of ISO 14001 and AS/NZS 4801. Familiarity with AS/NZ 5377 is advantageous.
  • Skilled in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and audits to identify potential hazards and develop appropriate control measures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for report writing, training, and task delegation.
  • Effective project management and multitasking abilities.
