Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Public Health Medicine Specialist to join our team in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading disease control teams, managing infectious diseases, and collaborating with local health organisations.

About the Role:

  • Provide medical and public health expertise to support the health of the Kimberley population
  • Lead disease control teams and manage infectious diseases
  • Collaborate with Aboriginal health staff and community-controlled health organisations
  • Design programs that reflect local priorities
  • Manage notifications of infectious diseases
  • Address conditions prevalent in the region such as rheumatic heart disease, leprosy, melioidosis, and flaviviruses

Key Requirements:

  • Unconditional general and specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (FAFPHM), or recognised equivalent
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Current C Class driver's Licence and ability to travel
