Description:

The role of the Senior Business Analyst is to drive digital transformation initiatives within a federal agency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document Current and Future State Business Processes: Using BPMN, flowcharts, and structured templates, document current and future state business processes.
  • Conduct Integration and Data Analysis: Conduct integration and data analysis to assess system compatibility and inform solution design.
  • Lead Gap Analysis and Translate Business Needs: Lead gap analysis and translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with stakeholders across business, policy, and technical teams to co-design future solutions.
  • Analyse and Visualise Data: Analyze and visualize data using tools such as SAS, Power BI, or Tableau to support public sector reporting and decision-making.
  • Develop Business Cases: Develop or support business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and risk assessments.
  • Assist in Procurement Activities: Assist in procurement activities including RFQ preparation, vendor evaluation, and compliance checks.

Requirements:

  • Proven Experience: Must have proven experience documenting business processes using BPMN or equivalent tools.
  • Strong Skills: Must have strong skills in requirements gathering, future-state design, and process optimisation.
  • Demonstrated Experience: Must have demonstrated experience in data analytics, visualisation, and interpretation.
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills: Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Government Procurement: Must have familiarity with government procurement processes and business case development.
  • Flexible Mindset: Must be flexible, adaptable, and proactive with an ability to take direction.
  • Australian Citizenship: Must be an Australian citizen.
