Senior Technical Lead

The Senior Technical Lead will spearhead the end-to-end technical delivery of a major digital transformation initiative within a federal government agency.

About the Role

This high-impact, large-scale transformation program aims to modernise core business capabilities and replace legacy systems with a modern, citizen-centric technology platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic technical guidance and oversight across multiple Agile Development Teams (ADTs)
  • Collaborate with systems and IT teams to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and standards
  • Define and implement code review frameworks and development standards
  • Act as an escalation point for technical risks, dependencies, and issues
  • Promote consistency through common component design and reuse
  • Foster a Developer Community of Practice to drive innovation and knowledge sharing
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of enterprise ICT environments including cloud, networking, security, and integration
  • Proven experience delivering technical capabilities using Agile methodologies (SAFe, PRINCE2, or hybrid)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret technical data and reports
  • Demonstrated resilience and adaptability in managing competing priorities and evolving requirements
  • High personal integrity and a commitment to delivering quality outcomes in a collaborative team environment
  • Experience in government or regulated ICT environments
  • Familiarity with Australian Government security standards (e.g., ISM, IRAP)
  • Exposure to enterprise architecture and scalable solution design
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., SAFe, ITIL, PMP, AWS, Azure)
