About Our Role

In the Asia-Pacific region, an opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Category Manager to join our team. This role will be based at our Chifley Park office in Melbourne and will require regular travel to our manufacturing sites across the APAC region.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled professional to maintain a continuous portfolio pipeline and drive procurement processes across the assigned category landscape. Key responsibilities include establishing a long-term strategic category plan, leading sourcing projects, and managing strategic supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop category plans and project portfolios for moderately sized construction, engineering, and operations projects with mid to high-level complexity.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships to prioritise and deliver on portfolio projects.
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships and performance to ensure delivery of service, quality, cost, and supply commitments.
  • Lead sourcing projects including RFI, RFP, RFQ, and contract development.
About You:
  • Rlevant experience in a construction, engineering, maintenance services, or capital related category.
  • Demonstrated experience in a commercial/procurement role.
  • Strong communication and partnership building skills, change management experience advantageous.
  • Relevant experience within category management and sourcing activities.
  • Knowledge working in business or functional unit supported by the category.
  • High level of sales, presentation, negotiation, and market/data analytical skills.
  • MS Office suite proficiency - Ariba experience is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in "should cost" modeling, corporate capital procurement processes, and strategic cost management.
  • Understanding of procurement project controls and project management tools.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) - or an associate degree combined with 7 - 10 years experience within the procurement field.
