About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teacher – In Charge to join our team at Y Schools Queensland - Senior Ipswich Campus.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Head of School and Head of Campus in their school leadership, driving educational wellbeing and vocational targets/objectives. This role requires a strong ability to assume operational leadership duties and responsibilities of a Campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of policies and procedures is essential for this role.
  • Instructional leadership of teacher professional development will involve collaborating with staff to enhance teaching practices.
  • Running briefs, debriefs, parades, staff training, managing staff and volunteers, and signing risk assessments are all critical tasks for this position.
  • Hosting new student induction/orientation process will ensure a smooth transition for students into our campus community.
  • Overseeing student engagement and case management processes will require strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Taking charge of targeted school programs/projects as agreed to by the Head of School/Campus and Deputy Principal will demonstrate your ability to lead and manage projects effectively.
Requirements
  • A current Registered Teaching Qualification and relevant experience are required for this role.
  • A current First Aid Certificate and CPR Qualifications are necessary to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
  • Ability to apply appropriate knowledge to plan and prepare teaching and learning programs is crucial for this position.
  • Collaborating constructively and positively with all school staff, across both campuses, in the development and evaluation of curriculum is essential.
  • Participating in the process led by the Head of School to develop your Professional Development plan will enable you to grow professionally and personally.
  • Facilitating and participating in training activities will showcase your ability to work collaboratively with others.
