About the Role

The Change and Communications Lead will play a pivotal role within the Customer Experience (CX) team at Ipswich City Council, driving internal and external engagement activities for the CX Program of Work. This position focuses on connecting the organisation with ongoing projects, fostering a cohesive approach to communication.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing and implementing effective communication strategies for the CX Program of Work, adhering to a consistent CX branded style guide.
  • Collaborating with the CX team to create project communication plans, events, and activities that enhance stakeholder engagement.
  • Providing expert advice on communication techniques and mechanisms, as well as developing and delivering internal communications that cater to diverse audiences.
  • Tapping into internal and external communications networks within council, ensuring timely dissemination of information to various stakeholder groups.
  • Supporting the Customer Experience Champions component of the 'CX Cross Functional Teams' project.
  • Enhancing communication skills and competencies within the team through targeted support and training initiatives.

About You

To excel in this role, you will require:

  • Relevant qualifications in marketing and/or communications or demonstrated experience in similar roles.
  • A strong background in both internal and external communications, as well as change management principles.
  • A customer-centric mindset, prioritising continuous improvement and innovation.
  • The ability to work autonomously, collaboratively, decisively, and with attention to detail.
  • An aptitude for multitasking, prioritising disparate project deadlines alongside core CX BAU responsibilities.
