Communication Specialist

As a key member of the Customer Experience team at Ipswich City Council, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation's internal and external engagement strategies. Your primary focus will be on connecting stakeholders with projects across various sectors while maintaining consistency with the council's brand style guide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing comprehensive communication plans for projects, ensuring seamless coordination with the team.
- Designing and executing events, activities, and campaigns to effectively engage stakeholders.
- Providing expert advice on communication techniques, mechanisms, and best practices for internal communications.
- Tapping into the council's internal and external networks to disseminate information to diverse stakeholder groups.
- Leading the Customer Experience Champions component of the 'CX Cross Functional Teams' project.
- Enhancing communication skills and competencies within the team through coaching and support.
About You
To excel in this role, you will possess:
- Qualifications in marketing and/or communications, or equivalent experience.
- A proven track record in both internal and external communications, as well as change management.
- A customer-centric mindset and passion for driving improvements.
- The ability to work autonomously, collaboratively, decisively, and with attention to detail.
- Multitasking and prioritisation skills, including meeting disparate project deadlines and CX BAU work requirements.
- An alignment with the council's values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency, and leadership.
