Job Overview

Maitland Private Hospital is a private hospital in the Hunter Valley region offering patient-centred care in a supportive, technology-enabled environment.

The hospital has 185 beds, 6 operating theatres, 10-bed ICU, and services including a dedicated mental health unit and an on-site cancer centre. The hospital focuses on innovation and clinical best practice.

Your New Role: Strong growth and expansion of services has generated the need for additional medical cover on our Rehabilitation Ward, in a permanent part-time or casual capacity.

Responsibilities
  • Provide medical cover on the Rehabilitation Ward as a Ward CMO in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Participate in patient assessment, management, and escalation as required.
  • Support clinical governance and quality improvement within rehabilitation services.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Current Working with Children Check and Police Check.
  • Understanding of Rehabilitation Model of Care.
  • Ability to identify deviations in diagnostic results and to appropriately act/manage and notify VMO accordingly.
  • Demonstrated clinical and procedural experience adequate to undertake the roles required of a Ward CMO.
  • Strong collaborative interpersonal skills with well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Immunisation evidence and serology report in accordance with NSW Health.
  • Australian permanent resident status or equivalent work rights required.
  • Experience with hospital computer data systems and relevant applications.
  • Previous private hospital experience and/or Medical & Rehabilitation experience.
