
Mental Health Support Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Court Liaison Officer in the Statewide Community and Court Liaison Service. The successful candidate will be working closely with Local Court Magistrates to divert defendants with mental health issues away from custody and into suitable treatment options.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Local Court Magistrates with diversion of defendants with mental health issues
- Conduct thorough evaluations and provide suggestions for diverting individuals away from custody
- Must hold a relevant post graduate qualification in mental health
- Must hold a current NSW Driver's Licence
- Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2: Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
- OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST LEVEL 4: Must hold qualifications recognised for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
- SOCIAL WORKER LEVEL 4: Minimum Bachelor's degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
- CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST: Four year degree in psychology or qualification deemed equivalent by the employer
The Statewide Community and Court Liaison Service (SCCLS) delivers mental health support in Local Courts across NSW. This service is expanding to include 58 local courts in rural, regional and metro locations.
