Job Title

A Specialist in Child and Youth Mental Health

Description

We are seeking a skilled psychiatrist to join our team, providing medical leadership and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality mental health care to children and young people. The ideal candidate will have experience in working with this age group, possess excellent communication skills, and be committed to ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities
  • Providing medical leadership to the senior team, ensuring innovative, collaborative, and best practice time-limited care for children and young people aged 0-17 years experiencing acute mental distress.
  • Working closely with the Team's Clinical Lead to build partnerships for seamless provision of care, participating in ongoing evaluation and development of the model of care.
  • Being actively involved in quality improvement and clinical governance activities, ensuring high-quality care provision in the public sector.
Requirements
  • Possess or be eligible for registration with AHPRA, Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, or equivalent as provided by the Health Insurance Act 1997.
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in providing effective, high-quality mental health services in a psychiatry setting.
  • Ability to support and work collaboratively in interprofessional contexts, including lived-experience professionals.
