
Mental Health Liaison Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Liaison Specialist to provide expert support in the court environment.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with individuals with mental health issues and a strong understanding of the NSW Mental Health Legislation.
Key Responsibilities:- To assist magistrates with diverting defendants who have or are suspected of having a mental illness, mental disorder or cognitive impairment from custody into suitable treatment options.
- To conduct thorough evaluations and develop suggestions for magistrates to aid in diversion decisions.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
- A postgraduate qualification in mental health.
- Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia or other relevant registration body.
- Five years' experience working in an acute mental health setting, including three years' experience in a leadership or clinical specialist role.
