Job Overview

The Global Procurement Strategist Lead - Supply Chain Innovation is accountable for overseeing the ongoing development of category management key practice areas and to operationalise our vision across our medium to long term planning horizons.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and own the Category Management roadmap towards the Procurement Vision and FY27 Strategy
  • Instill a continuous improvement and agile mindset throughout Category Management to embed a culture of evaluating value delivered and pivoting priorities to ensure alignment with the Bank's strategic imperatives
  • Support the coordination and prioritization of resources and knowledge assets across all areas of category management to maximise value, promote increased alignment and ensure achievement of functional objectives
  • Remove obstacles, set direction and provide a point of escalation for issues that relate to our key practice areas
  • Evolving category strategy and supplier management frameworks to help coach the category team towards continuous improvement and driving sustainable and measurable value over medium to longer term horizons
  • Continuously improve our frameworks to enhance value delivery, ESG outcomes and a more vibrant and engaged supplier ecosystem
  • Develop rapport with the category teams, sponsors and supplier facing business teams to support better SRM and facilitate a community of practice and represents the 'voice of our suppliers' into ANZ
  • Promote utilisation of category tools, subscriptions and resources to support more effective business partnering and in providing powerful real time insights to category managers and practice leaders
  • Collaborate with category leadership to support and enable consistent messaging and engagement channels for strategic and growth suppliers, embed segmentation framework and supplier account plans into category strategies
  • Track category management performance through value tracking dashboards for cost as well as broader strategic value
  • Lead strategic annual planning cycle on behalf of category management, driving alignment around baselines and stitching together key delivery roadmap across SRM, ESG and category teams
About You

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Strong experience working in a leading consulting practice firm, tech start-up or consulting like industry (eg. technology/digital strategy, innovation procurement or strategic partnerships)
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience implementing of the end-to-end supply chain and procurement lifecycle – including category strategy and management, source to contract market activities, negotiation and execution, contractual/deal expertise, performance management and navigating supply chain disruption
  • Experience across transformation strategy and execution; and gravitas to influence change agenda for category management at multiple levels of the organisation
  • Ability to empathetically lead strategic change agenda for procurement organisation
  • Exceptional communicator and brings tools and methodologies to solve complex and ambiguous problem statement
  • Act as thought leader to business, our internal teams and suppliers to inspire with latest market trends, insights and innovation
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving ability and conceptual thinking; with excellent persuasive written, analytical and verbal skills to craft compelling, data driven narratives
  • Proactively takes ownership and acts with integrity to deliver required results, empowering others and rolling sleeves up as necessary
  • Problem Solve within highly complex and ambiguous situations; and understands risks and appropriate control options
  • Collaborates to drive consistent performance, value, and innovation from key supply partners through well-articulated account plans; and thrives in hypothesis-led environment and ability to framework challenges from a commercial perspective
