Rural General Practitioner Opportunity in Smithton, Tasmania

Ochre Health is a leading General Practice organisation that supports over 450 doctors, including 90 registrars. We are currently seeking an experienced Rural General Practitioner to join our busy practice in Smithton, Tasmania, and provide VMO services to Smithton District Hospital.
About the RoleThis is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated and skilled General Practitioner to boost their income participating on the VMO roster. The successful candidate will have the chance to work with a dynamic team, providing high-quality patient care in a rural setting.
The role offers:
- Car, accommodation, and relocation assistance provided
- $1,200 daily VMO rate
- X-ray training will be provided
- Eligible for RVTS and the ACRRM Independent Pathway
- Eligible for Procedural Grants and GPRIP payments

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- General Registration or Vocational Registration with AHPRA
- Proficient with common general practice conditions
- Current Emergency Medicine certificate (ALS2 / REST or equivalent)
- Recent experience in an unsupervised Emergency setting
The estimated salary for this role is $200,000 - $250,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to the salary, the role offers a range of benefits, including car, accommodation, and relocation assistance, as well as opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
