Thiess seeks a seasoned Heavy Leading Hand Diesel Fitter to spearhead its mobile maintenance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to thrive in a dynamic work environment.

About The Role

This position entails leading a skilled team of technicians, ensuring the smooth operation of heavy mobile mining equipment. You will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining equipment according to Thiess' systems documentation.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead a team of skilled technicians in performing servicing, repair, and maintenance tasks.
  • Source technical information from reference manuals, technical bulletins, and computer-based systems.
  • Provide technical information to staff and operations personnel.
  • Source and requisition parts and/or equipment requirements through the correct ordering procedure.
  • Verify the implementation of solutions and address non-conforming machinery until resolution.
About You
  • Certificate III in Heavy Diesel Fitting or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 5 years mining experience with exposure to leading or supervising mobile maintenance HD Fitters.
  • Positive leadership style with strong time-management skills and the ability to guide and supervise the maintenance team.
  • Experience in planning servicing, repair, and preventative maintenance of heavy mobile mining equipment.
  • Commitment to health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to ensure all required paperwork is completed to a high standard by tradespeople.
  • Proactive approach to quality work.
  • High Risk Work Licences advantageous – WP, LF, and Rigging.
