Job Summary

This position involves leading a team of skilled maintenance personnel to ensure the optimal performance and efficiency of heavy mobile mining equipment. As our next Heavy Leading Hand Diesel Fitter, you will work closely with managers and supervisors to direct the maintenance activities at the Mt Holland Mine on a FIFO roster.

This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to pivot around priorities while guiding and supervising the maintenance team. You will be responsible for performing servicing, repair, and maintenance of equipment as directed in accordance with Thiess servicing, lubrication, and maintenance systems documentation.

About The Role
  • Lead a skilled mobile maintenance team following directives from management
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and services on heavy mobile mining equipment
  • Source technical information from reference manuals, technical bulletins, and computer-based systems
  • Provide technical guidance to staff and operations personnel
  • Requisition parts and/or equipment requirements through established procedures

You will also be responsible for verifying the implementation of solutions and addressing any non-conforming machinery until resolution. In this role, you will have opportunities to showcase your skills in a company that values development and success.

Requirements
  • Certificate III in Heavy Diesel Fitting or equivalent qualification
  • At least 5 years mining experience with exposure to leading or supervising mobile maintenance HD Fitters
  • Strong leadership style with excellent time-management skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience in planning maintenance, repairs, and services of heavy mobile mining equipment
  • Commitment to health and safety policies and procedures
  • Able to manage paperwork efficiently and ensure quality work
