Overview of the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Leading Hand Diesel Fitter to join our Maintenance Team. As part of this role, you will be responsible for leading a skilled mobile maintenance team and undertaking a range of maintenance activities at the Mt Holland Mine on a 14/7 FIFO roster.

The ideal candidate will have a Certificate III in Heavy Diesel Fitting or equivalent, along with at least 5 years mining experience with exposure to leading or supervising mobile maintenance HD Fitters. They will also possess strong leadership skills, excellent time management abilities, and the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a skilled mobile maintenance team following managers and supervisors' directives
  • Perform servicing, repair and maintenance of equipment as directed in accordance with Thiess servicing, lubrication and maintenance systems documentation
  • Source technical information from reference manuals, technical bulletins, and computer-based systems
  • Provide technical information to staff and operations personnel
  • Source and requisition parts and/or equipment requirements through the appropriate manuals or publications using the correct ordering procedure
  • Verify the implementation of solutions and/or address non-conforming machinery until resolution

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Heavy Diesel Fitting or equivalent
  • At least 5 years mining experience with exposure to leading or supervising mobile maintenance HD Fitters
  • Positive leadership style with strong time-management skills and the ability to pivot around priorities while guiding, assisting, and supervising the maintenance team
  • Experience in planning servicing, repair and preventative maintenance of heavy mobile mining equipment
  • Commitment to health and safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to ensure all required paperwork is completed to a high standard by tradespeople
  • Proactive in the workplace to ensure quality work
  • High Risk Work Licences advantageous – WP, LF and Rigging
