Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bricklayer to join our team. As a bricklayer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality bricklaying services on commercial construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently. You will also have experience with reading building plans and specifications, as well as laying bricks and blocks.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret building plans and specifications
  • Lay bricks and blocks
  • Perform structural repairs and restoration as required
  • Apply OH&S requirements, policies, and procedures in the construction industry
  • Operate tools and machinery safely and efficiently
  • Build and dismantle low-level scaffolds within safety limits
  • Oversee project progress to ensure delivery within timelines and quality standards
  • Coordinate with site and union supervisors to ensure smooth project execution
  • Manage on-site compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company standards
  • Identify and resolve site issues in real-time
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Trade-qualified with minimum 3 years' experience in bricklaying (5+ years preferred)
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret building plans
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • AQF Certificate III including at least one year's on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV or at least three years of relevant work experience
  • Strong understanding of building codes, construction standards, and plan interpretation
  • Reliable, punctual
  • Driver's license
  • Commitment to safe work practices and workplace health and safety
  • Trade/machine tickets (e.g. working at heights, white card) are an advantage
