Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill a key role in our construction team.

  • This position requires strong bricklaying and blocklaying skills, with the ability to interpret building plans and specifications.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience working on commercial construction projects and be committed to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • OHS requirements, policies, and procedures must be applied at all times during construction activities.

About the Role:

  • Reading and interpreting building plans and specifications to carry out bricklaying tasks
  • Lay bricks, blocks
  • Perform structural repairs and restoration as required
  • Operate tools and machinery safely and efficiently
  • Build and dismantle low-level scaffolds within safety limits
  • Oversee project progress to ensure delivery within timelines and quality standards
  • Coordinate with site and union supervisors to ensure smooth project execution
  • Manage on-site compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company standards
  • Identify and resolve site issues in real-time
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment

Requirements:

  • AQF Certificate III including at least one year's on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV or at least three years of relevant work experience
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret building plans
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • A strong understanding of building codes, construction standards, and plan interpretation
  • Reliable, punctual, and commitment to safe work practices and workplace health and safety
