The Payroll Team Leader is a critical position within our organization, responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate payment of approximately 3,200 employees on a fortnightly basis. This role requires a high level of expertise in payroll operations and the ability to lead a team of five Payroll Officers in day-to-day activities.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Payroll Officers with escalated enquiries and issues, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Maintain the payroll system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Update employee records, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate.
- Calculate and process terminations, variations, salary increases, and back pays, ensuring all calculations are accurate and compliant.
- Prepare superannuation and work cover deductions, ensuring all requirements are met.
- Process salary packaging through our external provider, ensuring all requirements are met.
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Team Leader who possesses a deep understanding of payroll legislation and processes. You will have the ability to interpret Enterprise Agreements, Awards, and relevant legislation, and have experience with payroll and time and attendance systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a high-performing team.
- Experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of payroll operations and compliance.
