About the Role

The Payroll Team Leader is responsible for ensuring the timely payment of approximately 3,200 VMCH employees on a fortnightly basis. This role involves leading a team of five Payroll Officers in relation to day-to-day operations and providing specialist payroll advice to VMCH employees.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting Payroll Officers with enquiries or issues that need to be escalated
  • Maintaining the payroll system
  • Updating employee records
  • Calculating and processing terminations, variations, salary increases, and back pays
  • Preparing superannuation and work cover deductions
  • Processing salary packaging through our external provider

About You

You have extensive end-to-end payroll experience within a large, complex, multi-site organisation and the ability to lead a high-performing team. You possess a strong understanding of payroll legislation and processes, as well as the ability to interpret Enterprise Agreements, Awards, and relevant legislation.
