About the Role

Hume City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Executive Office team as an Executive Project and Support Officer.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the effective, timely, and integrated achievement of Divisional projects, priorities, and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with Internal Departments: Develop and execute an advocacy agenda for emerging community service issues, ensuring a collaborative approach with internal stakeholders.
  • Strategic Project Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of key strategic projects for the City Services & Living Division, including strategies, policies, programs, projects, and events.
  • Risk Management and Analysis: Maintain a high-level understanding of key internal or external matters that could impact the City Services & Living Division, ensuring staff are aware of key risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Provide strategic advice and analysis to support stakeholders and community organisations in planning and advocacy for services or programs to meet community needs.
  • Forum Coordination: Coordinate stakeholder forums to guide the development and implementation of community services issues.
  • Policy Implementation: Influence and liaise with key stakeholders to support the planning and policy implementation across the Division.
  • Relationship Building: Build collaborative and respected relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance strategic priorities and resolve complex issues.
  • Service Planning: Participate in and resource the development of all Divisional service planning processes, providing guidance and support as required.
Requirements
  • Project Management: Coordinate the preparation of Divisional submissions, reporting, and applications.
  • Relationship Building: Build collaborative and respected relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance strategic priorities and resolve complex issues.
  • Representation: Represent the City Services & Living Division in cross-business projects and cross-functional teams and various internal and external forums as required.
  • Complex Work Programs: Experience in advancing complex work programs and ensuring adherence to key timelines, including proven project management skills.
  • Community Services: In conjunction with the Executive Officer City Services & Living, coordinate responses to a range of existing and emerging community services/City Services & Living issues, providing oversight, and ensuring delivery of outcomes in a timely manner.
  • Public Policy: Demonstrated experience in developing, influencing, and implementing public policy and strategies.
  • Communication: Highly developed written and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, submissions, papers, and correspondence for authorisation by the Executive Officer City Services & Living, as required.
