Project Security Officers play a crucial role in overseeing security for large-scale construction projects across various regions.

This role involves managing project security, adhering to client requirements and implementing comprehensive security plans. Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with stakeholders, clients and relevant authorities for inspections and correspondence.
  • Assisting the Construction Security Manager in ensuring compliance with security protocols throughout the construction phase.
  • Conducting regular site inspections to ensure adherence to design and security specifications.
  • Managing personnel access approvals and permissions for staff, consultants and subcontractors.
  • Providing security briefings, inductions and training for project staff and contractors.
  • Collaborating on policy development to meet security standards, in conjunction with the Construction Security Manager.
  • Supporting project teams with specific security requirements and reviewing tender packages to ensure security measures are met.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • To be an Australian citizen at the time of application.
  • If required, have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
  • Understanding of Government Protective Security Frameworks, including PSPF, DSPF and ASIO Tech Notes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as experience working with internal and external stakeholders, including government and regulatory authorities.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance, Safety and Compliance within a construction environment.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings with clients, resolve issues and report on matters related to security compliance.
  • High-level attention to detail and a meticulous approach to processes.
