Job Overview

We are seeking a Project Security Officer to support our long-term construction projects in Canberra and Melbourne.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with clients, security consultants, and authorities for inspections and correspondence.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining Construction Security Plans throughout the construction phase.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with design and security plans.
  • Manage personnel access approvals and permissions for staff, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Deliver security briefings, inductions, and training for project staff and contractors.
  • Develop policies and procedures to meet security requirements in conjunction with the Construction Security Manager.
  • Assist with tender packages to ensure security requirements are met.
Requirements:
  • To be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
  • Ability to gain and maintain a Government Security Clearance if required.
  • Understanding of Government Protective Security Frameworks (PSPF, DSPF, ASIO Tech Notes and Construction Zones).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance, Safety, and Compliance within a construction environment.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings, resolve issues, and report on security compliance matters.
  • High-level attention to detail and a meticulous approach.
  • A background in Building Services, Quality Assurance, EHS, Project Surveillance, Rail, or Aviation is highly valued.
