Job Description
  • Assist the head chef in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen.
  • Prepare mise en place for all relevant menus.
  • Maintain high food production standards, consistent with the hotel's quality expectations.
  • Ensure dishes are prepared consistently, adhering to standard procedures.
  • Manage stock rotation and minimize waste, and assist with ordering necessary ingredients.
  • Comply with WHS and food safety regulations.
  • Provide excellent service, addressing guest feedback and communicating it to the team.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience as a Demi Chef in a hotel or restaurant with high food quality standards.
  • Ability to operate various kitchen equipment and practice sound cooking techniques.
  • Completion of a Chef Apprenticeship or a Certificate in commercial cookery.
  • Good food hygiene and safety knowledge, including safe and accurate knife skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in different cooking methods.
  • Availability to work varied shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
