Job Description: As a Business Strategy Lead - Sales and Inventory, you will oversee the planning function within a category, leading and mentoring a team of planning assistants. Your primary responsibility will be to drive strategies that maximise sales and profit while managing inventory health, data integrity, and achieving closing inventory budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop category and product level sales, GP, and inventory plans, including pre-season strategy and budget setting, and in-season re-forecasting.
  • Work closely with Buyers to develop product assortment, focusing on customer-centric ranging with high in-stock availability, ranged to the right store tiers, and within set options and budget.
  • Plan delivery and product phasing to ensure entry and exits are executed with space, inventory, realistic sell-down plans, and GP maximisation considerations.
  • Manage OTB (On-Time-Budget) performance, ensuring an accurate financial WSSI (Weekly Spend Summary), quantifying and placing monthly core replenishment at product level, quarterly newness quantification, and ensuring spend aligns with budget.
  • Drive enhanced reporting and analysis, focusing on attribute-level learnings and actions, leading pre-, in-, and post-season reporting and analysis, including weekly trade meetings, monthly commercial reviews, and bi-annual post-season reviews.
  • Evaluate data accuracy at all times, taking proactive steps to understand end-to-end systems, overseeing Planning Assistant schedule audits, and conducting SKU maintenance and checks as required.

About You:

  • You possess extensive planning experience in a retail environment.
  • You have strong business acumen supported by advanced system, forecasting, analytical, and reporting skills, including expertise in Excel.
  • Your natural curiosity enables you to identify anomalies, and you approach problem-solving with a solutions-focused mindset.
  • You have the ability to lead a planning team and work collaboratively with buying teams, showcasing a positive and caring leadership style, particularly when developing junior planning team members.
  • You can prioritise tasks and set internal timelines for yourself and your team, achieving deadlines and critical path milestones.
