The Operational Health and Safety Manager is a key role within our organization, responsible for ensuring the well-being of our employees and contractors. This position plays a vital part in maintaining a safe working environment and promoting a culture of health and safety across the business.
Salary InformationWe offer a competitive salary of $95,000 - $105,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Operational Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing effective health and safety policies and procedures;
- Conducting regular site visits to identify potential hazards and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations;
- Providing training and support to employees and contractors on health and safety matters;
- Investigating incidents and accidents, and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence;
- Maintaining accurate records of health and safety activities and reporting to senior management as required;
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to health and safety across the business.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) or a related field;
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a heavy industry setting;
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and legislation, including WHS Acts and Codes of Practice;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, contractors, and external stakeholders;
- Ability to develop and implement effective health and safety programs and initiatives;
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
