Insurance Claims Professional

The role of an Insurance Claims Professional is to produce high-quality work products on a portfolio of general liability claims. This involves effective investigation, reserving, and adjustment of third-party claims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of liability claims in accordance with industry best practices
- Analyse first reports to determine the nature of loss, coverage provided, and scope of injury/damage
- Conduct investigations into all aspects of reported claims, including potential fraud, and secure/file supporting documentation for accuracy, relationship, and completeness
- Establish accurate and timely reserves
- Provide exceptional service standards in line with industry guidelines
- Maintain an active diary to achieve timely development of files and disposition of claims
- Exercise good judgement in reaching final claim dispositions by evaluating the nature of loss, liability, injury/damage, coverage provided, and applicable limits
- Negotiate compromise settlements where appropriate and recognise/pursue subrogation when applicable
Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary or insurance industry qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years' liability claims experience
- Broad knowledge of the insurance industry and claims processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective workflow management skills
- A strong customer service focus and proven team player
