We are seeking a Claims Specialist to join our team. As a Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of claims, delivering exceptional service and ensuring that claims are handled efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Proactively manage a varied portfolio of claims, with exposure to different lines of business.
- Oversee the entire claims process, evaluating claims to determine policy coverage and negotiating favorable outcomes for clients.
- Collaborate with clients, repairers, assessors and other stakeholders to maintain excellent working relationships and protect client interests.
- Identify and escalate suspicious or potentially fraudulent claims for internal review and investigation.
- Provide information and feedback on claims and developing trends to underwriters/risk assessors.
- Manage insurance claims pursuant to GICOP requirements and ensure compliance with relevant statutory guidelines and standards.
- Interpret and make decisions on policy terms, conditions and exclusions up to Delegated Authority amounts; escalate and work with senior staff on difficult or complex claims.
- Respond to enquiries within SLAs and maintain professional, accurate information flow to claims stakeholders.
- Ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in insurance.
- Experience working to deadlines (including GICOP) and within SLA timeframes.
- Broad knowledge of the insurance industry and claims processes.
- Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
