Job Overview

The Tasmanian Health Department is seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse Consultant to join its Rheumatology and Persistent Pain Service at the Launceston General Hospital.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert clinical guidance on musculoskeletal conditions, chronic disease healthcare principles, and contemporary nursing theory and practice.
  • Coordinate and evaluate patient care processes for Rheumatology clients referred from both acute and community sectors within an outpatient setting.
  • Foster effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary environment and demonstrate capacity to provide clinical leadership while working with minimal supervision.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated extensive experience, knowledge, and understanding of musculoskeletal conditions, chronic disease healthcare principles, and contemporary nursing theory and practice.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
