Job Opportunity in Rheumatology and Persistent Pain Service

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a new team at Launceston General Hospital, enhancing equity of access to specialist rheumatology services in Northern Tasmania.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert leadership and support to other members of the health care team to ensure efficient and effective coordination and provision of nursing care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Coordinate and evaluate the intake, planning, assessment, evaluation and discharge processes for Rheumatology clients referred from both the acute sector and the community within an outpatient setting.
  • Act as a clinical resource for patients and carers, providing expert advice and guidance on musculoskeletal conditions and chronic disease management.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated extensive experience, knowledge and understanding of musculoskeletal conditions, chronic disease healthcare principles, contemporary nursing theory and practice.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
