Key Leadership Opportunity in Rheumatology Nursing

The Launceston General Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Consultant to lead and support the new Rheumatology and Persistent Pain Service. This exciting opportunity will enhance equity of access to specialist rheumatology services in Northern Tasmania.

The CNC will provide expert advice, leadership, and support to other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective nursing care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions. The role includes coordinating and evaluating intake, planning, assessment, evaluation, and discharge processes for Rheumatology clients referred from both acute sectors and the community within an outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Applying clinical expertise in musculoskeletal conditions, chronic disease health care principles, contemporary nursing theory, and practice.
  • Leading effectively in a multidisciplinary environment, demonstrating professional judgment, and initiative while working with minimal supervision.
  • Coordinating complex client care independently.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience and knowledge in musculoskeletal conditions, chronic disease health care principles, contemporary nursing theory, and practice.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate complex client care.
