About the Role

This position plays a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects, by managing contracts and commercial functions, reviewing and improving processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Manage agreements and commercial activities, reviewing and refining processes to enhance performance and value.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions, maintaining strong relationships with clients while securing advantageous conditions.
  • Establish and administer project rights, obligations, claims, variations, and vendor agreements in accordance with established procedures and contractual requirements.
  • Support the selection, negotiation, and management of vendors, collaborating with procurement and legal teams to ensure alignment of commercial strategies.
  • Monitor compliance with contract and subcontract conditions across projects, providing expert advice and guidance as needed.
  • Provide commercial support to project managers to achieve financial and contractual outcomes, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of commercial strategies and activities, driving business growth and success.
  • Develop and mentor the commercial team, providing training and guidance to achieve objectives and drive results.
Key Requirements
  • 2-3 years' experience in Commercial Management or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of commercial principles, contract administration, subcontract administration, cost control, and risk management.
  • Proven experience working on major projects, ideally in a senior commercial management capacity.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (essential).
  • Australian Defence background is highly desirable.
