About The Role

We now have an opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join our business in our head office in Osborne Park. Reporting to the Group Manager - Commercial and Risk, the Commercial Manager is accountable for the overall management of the Commercial function throughout the project life cycle, from Tender to Project completion, for multiple live projects.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Review and negotiate head contracts
• Assess pre award contracts for compliance in line with accepted company risk positions
• Creation of back-to-back contract terms to pass through head contract obligations to subcontractors
• Provide rights and obligations summary to project team
• Set up process for site teams' strict compliance with contract notices
• Provide proforma head contract notifications/letters
• Provide project specific subcontractor/supplier proforma contracts
• Set up process to ensure EOT/variations are in accordance with the head contract
• Provide assistance to project teams for management of disputes (including recognition of heads of claim, claims assessment and strength of position in line with contractual entitlements)
• Assist in the development of strategies for successful resolution of disputes
• Analyse and report on the success of disputes to inform decisions by senior management
• Ensure compliance with the Delegation of Authority Matrix
• Develop plans to address project lessons learnt around the Commercial function
• Provide feedback to pre-contracts on lessons learnt from projects
• Close out audit actions within specified timeframes

About you:

• At least 10 years+ experience in a similar role within the Australian Civil and infrastructure space
• Degree qualified in Business Law, Construction Management, Commerce, Quantity surveying or similar - preferable
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role that encompasses the full project lifecycle, across multiple live contracts at any given time - A must
• Demonstrated experience in dispute management - A must
• Ability to travel to site on an ad hoc basis
• Brings a positive, solution focused, results-oriented attitude.
• Achieves cohesive and an effective team spirit
