Policy Analyst Position

About the Role

We are seeking multiple Temporary opportunities until 2026, based in Sydney CBD.

In this role, you will undertake detailed research and policy analysis to support the NSW Government's strategic priorities in emergency management.

About the Team

We are a collaborative team working on challenging government priorities in the emergency management sector.

  • Providing whole of government emergency management strategic policy advice to improve outcomes across the sector.
  • Managing and maintaining emergency management and rescue policy frameworks.
  • Supporting NSW representatives in national emergency management forums.
  • Supporting the coordination and governance of the emergency management sector through boards, committees, and reviews.
Key Responsibilities

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated expertise in researching, evaluating and interpreting complex information to support sound policy settings, Cabinet submissions and strategic government initiatives.
  • Proven ability to prepare clear, accurate and compelling briefs, reports and ministerial correspondence that align with presentation standards and support informed decision-making.
  • Expertise in managing priorities, meeting deadlines and contributing to the delivery of high-impact policy and reform initiatives in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Collaborative approach and proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships across agencies and stakeholders to facilitate delivery.
  • Proven capability to respond flexibly to shifting priorities, apply initiative in problem-solving, and seek opportunities to grow, learn and support the broader team.
