**About the opportunity**

The NSW SES is recruiting a Manager Emergency Risk assessment to lead a team that provides expert advice in floodplain and coastal risk management planning. This includes process, responding to and preparing for current and future status and emergency response including flood and evacuation management.

This role also advocates the NSW SES's position on future hazard and emergency risk to Government Departments and agencies.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will:

- have demonstrated experience in emergency risk management including developing and maintaining strategies and policies to support planning and preparedness in flood management, land use planning and risk mitigation strategies;
- possess strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders to achieve cooperation and collaboration;
- have strong communication skills both verbal and written to prepare submissions, planning and policy documents and engage with internal and external agencies and stakeholders;
- use your effective managerial skills and experience to lead and support a team of risk management and research professionals.
