We will be hiring an experienced and proven Safety and Risk Manager (S&R) to contribute to our ongoing growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of S&R Advisors across multiple projects in one of our highly technical constructions sectors.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of an evolving strategic S&R plan.
  • Risk management including safety in design, project planning, high-risk activity workshops, SWMS, SOPs, and PPE.
  • Oversee the implementation and compliance to our S&R Management System, audits, and compliance (e.g., ISO and OFSC).
  • Provide expertise and advice on legislative and regulatory matters pertaining to S&R.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and issues raised by regulatory bodies, clients, and suppliers.
  • Ensure conformance for S&R Plans per project team by way of observations and inspections.
  • Partake in weekly S&R Walks and ensure raised issues are rectified by project teams.
  • Drive development of Hammertech for maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Raise gaps and opportunities with the project team for improving training and competency.
  • Steer continuous improvement programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure effective handling of incident management, investigations, and reporting.
  • Steer client engagement and reporting requirements.
  • Involvement with tender submissions, providing S&R advice as required.

Requirements

  • A highly skilled people and stakeholder leader.

  • Strong and influential presenting and facilitation skills.
  • Energetic and disciplined approach to working within a large diverse team.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in WHS or equivalent (Degree or Diploma).
  • Extensive S&R experience in the construction industry - preferably across multiple large-scale projects.
  • Background of leading medium-to-large scale S&R team operations.
  • Capacity to implement strategic plans and continuous improvement.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant regulations and standards.
  • Proven experience with conducting S&R assurance activities such as audits.
  • Understanding of OFSC requirements.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Hammertech (or equivalent system).
  • Strong stakeholder management, collaboration, attention to detail, influencing, presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Highly motivated with a 'can do' attitude.
