Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and development in data engineering, data science, NoSQL databases, data ingest and query frameworks, cloud systems, security, and systems engineering.
  • Utilize Java, C++, and Python programming skills for the development and testing of software solutions.
  • Develop and implement data management strategies in support of AI/ML projects.
  • Collaborate with team members to design and implement solutions to technical challenges.
  • Mentor and guide students, review their work, and provide feedback to facilitate their learning and development.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, publications, and presentations.

Requirements

  • PhD in Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Java, C++, and Python programming.
  • Preferred experience with NoSQL databases, particularly Accumulo, and knowledge of data ingest and query frameworks.
  • Strong background in data engineering, data science, cloud systems, security, and systems engineering.
  • Experience in data management for AI/ML applications.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team.
