About the Team

The Department of Industry, Science and Resources is a dynamic team that provides high-quality legal services to investigations teams and policy makers. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Legal and Regulatory Affairs team as a Paralegal, APS Level 3, Anti-Dumping Commission.

The Opportunity

This role involves providing legal research and administrative support to lawyers in the Legal and Regulatory Affairs team. As a Trade Remedies Law Specialist, you will be responsible for undertaking legal research and analysis in areas such as statutory interpretation, administrative law, and World Trade Organization case law.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to inform decisions and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases, including the legal advice register and merits review database.
  • Support team management by assisting with document management, onboarding new team members, and monitoring the team shared mailbox.
  • Assist with team and branch reporting and data compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous practice and operational improvement aligned to the commission's strategic direction.
  • Provide support on submissions to merits and judicial review.
Eligibility

Tertiary study in law is required for this role. To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.

What We Offer

A competitive salary of approximately $80,000 per annum, plus excellent benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development. Requirements

We are interested in candidates currently studying a law degree with an interest in international trade and/or administrative law. This role requires strong research and analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
