Job Overview
A Pulmonology Specialist Research Associate is required to contribute to a large research project focused on improving health outcomes for individuals with respiratory failure. This role will primarily involve the conduct of a single-center trial comparing different methods for assessing and adjusting home ventilation.

About the Project
The Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) funded project, Synchronise Non-Invasive Ventilation at Home (Synchronise ), aims to improve health outcomes for people with respiratory failure who require long-term home ventilatory support. The project involves a 4-year fixed term position, primarily located in Heidelberg, with some travel requirements. Key elements of the role include assisting with preparing human research and ethics documentation, providing primary oversight of protocols, and contributing to data management, analysis, writing of manuscripts, and presentation at scientific meetings.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must be a registered Medical Practitioner in Australia, have current Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent, have completed a PhD or equivalent, and have demonstrated ability to undertake research in a health/clinical setting. Additionally, you should have appropriate training and experience applicable to the field of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, specialist knowledge in respiratory failure and long-term ventilation, and demonstrated knowledge of Good Clinical Practice requirements.
