About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join The Next Step as a Strategic People Leader and drive business objectives through effective people management. As a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team, you will lead the People function and develop programs to enhance employee development, performance, and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team, offering guidance on people-related matters.
Develop and deliver programs to enhance employee development, performance, and engagement.
Lead cultural change and ensure capability uplift.
Foster an engaged and productive workforce.
Create a culture of continuous learning and development.
Drive talent acquisition and retention at market-competitive rates.
Complete performance and capability reviews, oversee the bonus cycle, and design a new incentive scheme to boost employee engagement and ESG outcomes.

Requirements

Proven HR leadership within highly regulated industries, with experience navigating the complexities of small, dynamic businesses.
Extensive experience in driving organisational change and digital transformation initiatives.
Strong track record in developing leadership capabilities at the executive and senior management level.
In-depth expertise in NSW employment law and regulatory compliance.
Demonstrated success in leading cultural transformation initiatives.
Expertise in workforce planning, remuneration frameworks, and reward programs.
Experience with ESG practices and sustainability initiatives.
Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with exceptional boards and executive teams.
Extensive experience as a trusted advisor to CEOs, demonstrating strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
