Border Force Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Border Force Supervisor to join our Sponsor Monitoring Unit in Queensland.
About the OpportunityThis is a challenging and rewarding role that involves leading a team of Senior Border Force Officers in conducting sponsor monitoring activities, visa pre-decision verification checks, and associated case management responsibilities.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of legislation and policy documents related to sponsor obligations and be able to apply and interpret them effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and lead a team performing Sponsor Monitoring activities and operations
- Apply and interpret legislation and associated policy documents
- Conduct site visits and client interviews
- Interrogate internal and external IT systems
- Manage high tempo compliance monitoring caseloads
- Draft and issue Notices of Intent to Take Action (NOITTA) and Infringement Notices
- Recommend administrative penalties
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Effective proven leadership abilities and team managerial skills
- Flexibility and initiative in response to planning and allocating work
- A good understanding of relevant legislative powers and ability to lead operational activity competently within those legislative boundaries
- Highly developed analytical abilities to identify and assess program integrity risk factors
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Aptitude in interacting with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
This role offers a competitive salary package, including superannuation benefits and flexible working conditions appropriate to the level of the position.
The Department may provide relocation assistance to eligible APS employees required to relocate.
