We are seeking committed and reliable individuals to join our team as Assistant Border Force Officers at the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs.

The Department of Home Affairs is responsible for centrally coordinated strategy and policy leadership in relation to domestic national security arrangements, law enforcement, emergency management, counter-terrorism, social cohesion, the protection of our sovereignty, the integrity of our border, and the resilience of our national infrastructure.

As an Assistant Border Force Officer, you will receive appropriate training to undertake requisite functions such as passenger clearances. You will work in a fast-paced, high-volume operating environment representing the ABF in frontline operational areas, dealing directly with members of the public including foreign travellers.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • You must be an Australian Citizen.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance and an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
  • You should have good communication skills and be professional and respectful in your interactions with colleagues and the public.

Benefits and Remuneration

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of $54,439.00 to $61,245.00 per year plus 15.4% superannuation, and flexible working conditions appropriate to the level of the position.

The Department may provide relocation assistance to eligible APS employees required to relocate.
