About the Role

This is a broad HR generalist position, offering opportunities for growth and development in Sydney or Melbourne. Reporting to the HR Manager for Australia, you will be responsible for day-to-day HR operations and contribute to national and state-based initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and overseeing the implementation of firm-wide policies and procedures.
  • Providing guidance to leadership on local laws and compliance.
  • Supporting organizational development initiatives including CLE/CPD tracking and training program development.
  • Assisting with remuneration, benefits, and performance evaluation processes.
  • Driving staff engagement, wellbeing, and inclusion efforts.
  • Supporting recruitment activities including graduate and law school programs.
  • Assisting with workplace health and safety compliance and psychological safety programs.
  • Managing HR reporting, performance management, and grievance handling.
  • Liaising with payroll on leave and pay queries.
  • Representing HR on internal committees and working groups.

About You

This role is ideal for a confident, proactive, and experienced professional with a proven track record in HR operations and project coordination. Previous experience in a law firm or professional services environment is essential.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
