Aboriginal Health Practitioner/RN Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Aboriginal Health Practitioner (AHP) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in providing high-quality, culturally safe and supportive primary health care services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, utilising their skills and experience to make a real difference in the lives of our clients.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing comprehensive and culturally appropriate primary health care services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans.
  • Conducting assessments, developing treatment plans and providing education and support to clients.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records of client interactions and treatment outcomes.
About the Role

This role is suitable for a motivated and compassionate professional who is passionate about working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities. The successful applicant will have:

  • A Bachelor of Nursing degree and/or Certificate IV in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Practice).
  • Current registration as an AHP/Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated understanding and/or experience in providing Primary Health Care, utilising standard treatment manuals.
  • Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history, and knowledge of issues impacting on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.

  • Hold a current CPR certificate.
